¿Why repeaters?

Repeaters are signal amplifiers to allow Radio Base Station coverage extension into zones where the signal is weak. Sometimes dense vegetation or the new buildings reduce coverage in some areas (shadow areas), impeding mobile communication or reducing quality what leads to an increase in dropped calls. Nowadays it is also necessary to provide good coverage in department stores, tunnels, parking lots, etc. In these cases the best resource is a repeater.

Repeater solutions are a cost effective alternative to the use Base Stations when capacity is not a key requirement, as repeaters do use existing BTS capacity. They allow expanding mobile services into areas that otherwise would uneconomical like basements or low density rural zones.
